About the event

Welcome to the second in our ‘Bringing literature to life’ series collaborations...

It’s time to immerse yourself in the worlds of literature & art, with this creative painting event based on one of the worlds most famous stories of love, passion and tragedy….

Wuthering Heights!

The story: Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate tale of the intense love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a Gypsy foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr. Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is degraded and humiliated by Catherine's brother and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man.

A tale of love, hate, horror, haunting and some say, the greatest , most terrifying love story of all time...

The setting: The exquisite Portico library, a 210-year-old private subscription library in the heart of the city, with a unique collection of books, archives & illustrations spanning over 450 years! The most perfect setting for a night of art, music, film & costume!

The Company: The Creative Society Manchester are a local events company who host fun & creative pop-up art, craft, and themed events at fantastic venues across the city!
