About the event

Our unique wellbeing retreat day means 5 whole hours of creative, mindful and wellbeing activities that offer you that mind, body & soul reset you've been craving!

It's easy to forget in our busy day-to-day lives, that dedicating a little time on our self-care makes us happier, healthier, more content, productive people... both for ourselves and those around us.

We have a carefully crafted programme that allows you to enjoy periods of complete relaxation and quiet in nature, enjoy the woodlands and learn some mindfulness practices.

You also have the chance to indulge yourself with delicious, freshly-made afternoon tea, reflect and learn a new skill with our gratitude journalling session and explore colour and creativity with our artist-led botanical art class!

Your wellbeing day includes all of the following elements:

~ Woodland walk 🌳🌳

An outdoor walk that incorporates stunning Japanese gardens, pretty flower gardens, a shady & quiet woodland walk through the trees, fields, tree arches and much more. We reap the benefits of being in nature, spending time amongst trees and moving our bodies with frequent stops to take in and enjoy our surroundings.

~ Forest-Bathing/Grounding 🌲🎋

This Japanese practice is a process of relaxation; known in Japan as shinrin yoku. The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can help both adults and children de-stress and boost health and wellbeing in a natural way. We will use some of the mindfulness exercises we practiced earlier and learn some grounding exercises that will help you feel calm, relaxed and clear your mind.

~ Afternoon tea 🎂🍰🥞🍥🥮🥪

Who doesn’t love a delicious afternoon tea? We do, so we know what is good! The setting is a picturesque garden courtyard of the retreat centre surrounded by plants and flowers. Think relaxing and indulgent.

~ Mindfulness Exercises 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♀️

A useful set of mindfulness exercises, as taught by our mindfulness practitioner! These exercises can come in handy every single day and can be an excellent way to improve our physical and mental wellbeing on a regular basis.

~ Outdoor Botanical Art Class 🎨👩‍🎨

Art classes are another of our specialities! After teaching countless classes, we bring you our outdoor botanical (Flowers!) painting in the gardens. Directly outside the retreat centre are extensive gardens filled with beautiful flowers for us to practice painting. If the weather isn’t great, we have lovely bay windows in our room too so either way we are covered. Art is an excellent way to relax, be mindful and enjoy creating something beautiful. You take your creations home to enjoy too!

~ Gratitude Journaling 📖 📙 🖊

Another practice that can be transformative for our wellbeing is practicing gratitude. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. We will end our day with some reflection and note the things we are grateful for. You then take your gratitude journal home with you so you can continue this practice in your daily life.

~ Unlimited tea & coffee ☕ 🍵

Who doesn’t need a little pick me up through a long day? We have you covered with unlimited tea and coffee, including decaf and herbal teas.

~ Set in a beautiful, period retreat centre 🏛🏘

The retreat centre itself is a picturesque and beautiful period property. Creativity is inspired by beautiful surrounding right? 

PLUS you take away a gratitude journal and complete art kit with you too! 📖🎨.. Including individual paints, brushes, palette knife and stationary so you can carry on these fantastic self-care exercises
